We have a lot of respect for the traditional manufacturers that are making great instruments.
Zoybar is not trying to replace any of them.
The "problem" with touch-style instrument from an open source point of view is the accuracy in the fretted neck and scale that could only be relevant to the specific instrument.
The idea behind the open source hardware is to provide (at the first stage) a basic kit (platform) that enables each person to experiment and customize its instrument by his own preferences budget and creativity.
This project could be a great experiment of new decentralized R&D models in the hardware manufacturing scene, and this up growing community would have a great part of making it realize.
I think this kind of discussion can continue in the community forums.
